  17. <p>A camera crew catches a brutal shooting--and creates a dilemma
  18. </p>
  19. <p>     The TV crew from It Happened Like This, a program on the
  20. Telemundo Spanish-language network, was after a human-interest
  21. story. They got a horror show instead. In North Lauderdale,
  22. Florida, Emilio Nunez confronted his ex-wife Maritza at their
  23. daughter's gravesite, blaming her for the girl's suicide. As the
  24. camera rolled, Nunez pulled a pistol from his pocket and shot
  25. Maritza 12 times.

  27. <p>     After Telemundo aired the tape, news organizations rushed
  28. for copies. Though most networks decided not to show the
  29. shooting, it ran on NBC Nightly News. NBC said it wanted to
  30. "illustrate the horror of domestic violence," but hundreds of
  31. callers to the network denounced it as shocking, offensive and
  32. without news value.
